The Last Step. Convert kilobytes to gigabytes.

After checking the maximum RAM capacity, one needs to open up the computer (especially laptop) to check if RAM slots are actually available. Some laptop manufacturers Solder their RAM. In their case, they have taken away the ability of the user to upgrade their RAM that the motherboard maker had given.

If RAM slots are available and there is discrepancy between what the manufacturer says and what the CMD command says, then go with CMD command. I had an old DELL laptop. according to DELL, it supported maximum of 8 GM, whereas CMD command gave the maximum capacity as 16 GB. I installed 16 GM of RAM and the laptop is working well.

Hi there, I asked my laptop manufacturer what the maximum RAM is, they say 32GB.

However, when I check through CMD —> wmic memphysical get maxcapacity

the answer is 134217728 bytes, which is 128GB.

Who do I listen to, customer service, or the CMD terminal?
